Kate Shimota is a BOC certified athletic trainer and nationally registered emergency medical technician from Boston, Massachusetts. She currently works at Northeastern University and with the Cape Cod Baseball League.
At Northeastern, she coordinates care for the baseball team and oversees emergency planning and response efforts, including EAP development, maintenance of emergency equipment, emergency training and CPR certification for the sports medicine staff, and annual education for coaches and administrators.
Prior to arriving at Northeastern, she worked at Emerson College, Boston University, and the University of Georgia. She has extensive experience with large scale event coverage and preparation, including service on the Boston Marathon medical committee, for which she has been a volunteer since 2013.
Kate graduated from Boston University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a Master of Science in Kinesiology.
